You Deserve an Emmy

Dramatic

emmy

Arrogance,

you’re so dramatic you should be on a stage,

not any stage, an one act show.

Your performance is above the average.

In your eyes you’re the greatest, not the best.

You never disappoint yourself.

You always deliver.

Arrogance,

your performance is second to none.

You demand all eyes on you-

the star of  your show.

You’re always center-stage.

It’s always about you.

Arrogance,

you’re beyond pathetic.

Your dramatic performance is in a category

of your own.

You’re a class act with none to compare.

Others would give you accolades

but you’ll praise yourself.

Arrogance,

as dramatic as you are-

you deserve an Emmy,

but, you’re so arrogant

you wouldn’t accept it,

you rather reward yourself.

People I Admire

Admire

admire

I admire people whom second-nature is to treat others like they would themselves. These are the individuals who give freely, love unconditionally, respect others because they see humanity and not  ethnicity.  These individuals show empathy and compassion to strangers and not only to those they know. They listen because they genuinely care, offer their advice because sincerely they desire to help. They teach because they want to help empower others, and they encourage because they want others to have a better life.

The people I admire are kind, loving, and patient. They’re not short patient and mean-spirited. They look for good before they look for the worse in others. They see life from a positive perspective and find meaning in learning from the negative. They build up others instead of tearing them down. Instead of gossiping or spreading malice, they put  perspective on how to make things better or how to move forward. The people I admire will stand alone for what is right than stand in a crowd of divisiveness. Many of the people I admire are unknown, not famous, and every day people.

I admire people who understand there is wisdom in appreciating the simplicity in small things in life. They understand you do not need to do great things in a big way, but you can do big things in a great way by sowing love and respect to mankind. The people I admire are not boastful nor pretentious. They do not do things for admiration, they are simply themselves and others like me admire them.

For the Record

mlk

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in. “( Matthew 25:35)

`
Animals are fed food, water, and offered a place to stay. This does not humanize them more than simply doing the right thing. For humans, these are the basic elements of survival, not an opportunity to earn a privilege for service nor is it a matter of making things right. Doing the right thing by others as you would yourself is your reasonable service towards humanity. It’s a commandment, it is not compensation.

Surrendering is Empowerment

freespirit

Surrendering is not an act of surrendering to control,

it is the act of humility.

Surrendering is the releasing of ego,

it the submission of self.

Some will never experience the power of surrender  and

will never know the power of gain because of the fear

of feeling powerless.

Some will never understand surrendering is a sign of strength,

not weakness.

Surrendering is bigger than an ego, it’s the choice of the strong.

Surrendering is not failure,

it is an act of making room for empowerment.

Surrendering is the acknowledgment of a power higher than self.

Time, A Friend or A Foe

Clock

clock

Every second, minute, and hour on a clock,

are either a friend or foe to you.

It’s up to you to make time of value.

You’re only given one chance to make it matter.

Tick, tock, tick tock,

foe or friend?

Time is moving along,

one day soon to end.

Stay in the moment.

Make each moment count.

It’s all you got.

It’s up to you.

What are you going to do?
